So anyway, I tried broadcasting but ManyCam decided it would try it's best to produce the world's crappiest images.
As a tiny little comfort for those who went through the trouble of going there and watch me struggle (as well as everyone else, really), I suggest you sign up to
ArtSpots, where you can actually
draw together with me. As you can probably see, I'm in Paint Chat - Room 1.
It's not much trouble signing up and doodling together is always fun

. I might be away for a bit every now and then but I'll stay in the chat either way.

I've been thinking about holding a sort-of DA meeting at my place. I've been wanting to meet a couple of online friends for a while already but I figured it would be great if some more could come along, should I ever organise such a meeting :3. Would be fun I reckon! Who of you would be up for it? I live in the Netherlands however so for the Americans among us it would probably be a fairly expensive trip. Maybe people can support eachother there if needed? Just suggesting :3.
I'm not saying I will organise this meeting any time soon, just that I'm planning to do so in the future, and I'd like to know if there's any enthousiasm.ChatroomRequests: Never, unless I offer them.
Trades: Closed.
Commissions: Closed.
Collaborations: Depends on my mood, ask me.
Critique: I'm always open for critique.
I've got a dragon character I'm constantly making new things for, and I was wondering if you knew any ways that I could give her some publicity? Like.. How would I go about advertising her and try to have people love my character like soooooooo many other artists with well-known dragon characters out there?
I strongly doubt that people watch me for my character (and most won't even know who my character is). They watch me for my art
It's unfortunate that DA is so much about popularity and less about artistic skill and creativity. If you're active in the community, talk to people and keep improving in your art, you will automatically get more popular. There's no stopping that. My pageviews have risen without me striving for them to rise, simply because I kept drawing and kept improving and kept creating more beautiful things that people apparently like.
Also, a way to gain views and watchers in this particular community is by drawing fanart for people or popular series. I wouldn't recommend doing that though. Once you get used to drawing things that aren't your own design, it will gradually become harder for you to think of something of your own. Another way of gaining views is drawing things that are generally liked by the public, such as dragons or wolves.
All I can tell and recommend to you is just keep doing what you do, keep wanting to improve. Focus on improving your artistic skill, not on gaining popularity. The latter will do nothing but kill your creativity and result in a lot of drama as has happened to many people on this site.
I couldn't figure out how to word the character thing. See I've got a whole design idea for aqua, I wanted to someday be able to put her face or pictures on shirts or make plush toys out of her and have people actually -want- to buy them. That's probably what I meant about loving the character.
I only do fanart when a pose for someone elses character inspires me. I love giving people things, and the best way to do that for me, is to draw someone something.
I'm a patient person, though I just figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I taught myself how to draw like this. I've not followed any art class, though I do want to some time in the future.
Wakatipu high school. Miss duncan got me drawing more realistic stuff, and rounding an image with coloured pencils, i'm sooo going to take art in yr 10 next year
just wondering how do you do those cool images on PS? like the water and that?
It's way too difficult and too much to explain how I use PhotoShop for my pictures. You're just going to have to look up some tutorials on the internet, there's hundreds of them
