I felt like drawing something traditionally again, it had been a while. I also feel like it's been quite a while since I drew something of my own rather than commissions or requests (well apart from the rainbow buffalo, but that was nothing serious).

So, here is Mesosemia Draconis, after a really pretty butterfly named Mesosemia Croeus: [link] (thanks =Angela-free-glades!).

I was going to colour this digitally, but when I started it I felt like I wasn't doing it any justice. So I just left it like this. I know it's not very spectacular, but it was a nice exercise.

I'm wondering if I should put this up for sale..

I really like the fluffy but still dragon-like wings. Is this made completely by pencil ? And what kind of paper did you use ?

Yes it's all pencil, though I gave the dragon a slight blue tint in photoshop.

The paper is a kind of aquarel paper, I'm not exactly sure which.
